Micromax has today unveiled 2 brand new smartphones under the “IN Mobiles” lineup. Given the brand choice, Micromax may spin-off the “IN Mobiles” as a separate brand at some point, but it is under Micromax for now. The newly announced phones are Micromax IN Note 1 and Micromax IN 1B. Let’s take a look at the specifications and overview.
The biggest highlight is that both of IN Mobile’s smartphones come with a pure & stock Android. There will be no ads or bloatware as such, and there is a dedicated button to invoke the Google assistant.
Micromax IN Note 1
The IN Mobile’s Note 1 is the hero of today’s launch and this should be the smartphone that excites most of us. The IN Note 1 is powered by a well-specced MediaTek Helio G85 and a Mali G52 GPU. The CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz should be able to handle most of the heavy tasks, including gaming just fine.
The display on the IN Note 1 is an FHD+ panel measuring 6.67-inches diagonally. The screen resolution is 1080*2400, which makes the aspect ratio to be 20:9. The display is an LCD panel supporting a peak brightness of 450 nits which is definitely a good setup.
The cameras on the IN Note 1 is a quad-camera setup at the back, supporting a large 1/2″ 48MP primary shooter and a 5MP wide-angle. There’s also 2MP each of macro and depth, but I will not keep any hopes from the latter two as they’ll be most obviously decorative without delivering any serious results. The front sensor is a 16MP setup from Omnivision (OV16A1Q). It supports video recording at 30fps.
The battery on the IN Note 1 is a 5,000mAh non-removable one. There is support for fast charging via the included 9V 2A charging adapter. The phone also comes
PRICE of Micromax IN Note 1: The smartphone is priced at ₹ 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB storage. The 4GB + 128GB storage variant is priced at ₹12499.
Micromax IN 1B
The younger sibling to the IN Note 1 is the IN 1B. The smartphone features an identical back design, but changes to a water-drop styled notch for the front. The back also reduces its camera burden, relying on fewer and less powerful image sensors. Here’s a quick look
Micromax IN 1B is powered by the Mediatek G35 CPU which features the PowerVR 8320 GPU. The smartphone should be capable of delivering good enough performance at the asking price.
The display on the IN 1B is a HD+ panel measuring 6.52-inches diagonally. The notch style is a waterdrop style, but IN Mobiles calls it a Mini-Drop style.
The device comes with a dual-camera setup at the back, featuring a 13MP primary camera and a supporting 2MP depth sensor. The primary sensor supports AI to enhance the image at the time of capture.
The IN 1B also comes with a 5,000mAh battery but limited to 10W of charging speed. Fortunately, there is USB Type-C connectivity helping us to finally say goodbye to the old and dated MicroUSB connectivity.
PRICE of Micromax IN 1B: The smartphone is priced at ₹6,999 for the 2GB + 32GB storage. The 4GB + 64GB storage variant is priced at ₹7999.
All of this sounds nice on paper, but we’ll have to see how well Micromax optimizes the software to deliver a satisfying user experience.
