Micromax IN 2b and IN 2c spotted on Geekbench with UNISOC processor

Yes, Micromax fans we are back and with a piece of news about two new upcoming Micromax smartphones. It’s been a long time since we have heard anything about the upcoming Micromax smartphones and the last phone launched by Micromax was the IN 1 back in March. Just yesterday, two Micromax smartphones popped on Geekbench and by looking at the names of the devices it seems that Micromax is working on not just one but two successors of the budget Micromax IN 1b smartphone that was launched late last year.

The smartphones spotted on the Geekbench database are “IN 2b” and “IN 2c”. Interestingly, this time Micromax has chosen a UNISOC processor for its smartphones moving away from Mediatek which was the choice on all their first-generation devices. It shouldn’t matter if the processor is able to offer an improved user experience and if it gives more power to the user at a lower price. The processor used in the IN 2b and IN 2c is the UNISOC T610 Octa-Core chipset based on 12nm fabrication and there’s 4GB RAM on both phones. The phones also run on the latest Android 11.

When it comes to performance, the UNISOC T610 is close to the Mediatek Helio G80 that powers the Micromax IN 1 and is double when you compare it to the Micromax IN 1b. This is a huge performance boost that the end customers will be getting at an affordable price point with the IN 2b and IN 2c. The new Micromax phones are already shaping up as the budget kings and I can only imagine what the Micromax IN Note 2 would bring in the mid-range. Power of 5G!

Micromax is a desh premi since start and with all the patriotism what better month to launch the phones in India other than August? I am expecting the company will make its new phones independent on 15th August or before that but this is just my blind guess and you should take it with some “Namak- Swad Anusaar”. The coming weeks are going to be exciting and we can expect new leaks and tidbits about upcoming Micromax phones appearing here and there so keep an eye.
